Bad Cabling Exposed
On a recent job upgrading a client to Cat 6 cabling, I discovered this scenario inside the wall. This is not an acceptable method to extend data cabling and it is no wonder the two staff whose computers were connected via these cables were having intermittent issues.
Other issues that would affect data integrity across their network were discovered at this site highlighting the importance of having a licensed Cabling Contractor to perform any cabling work.
If you are experiencing problems with your computer network, call us to discuss having your cabling tested to see if it is performing properly.
NBN lights up in Meadow Springs
MEADOW Springs homes and businesses can now switch on to the National Broadband Network as the rollout continues across the country.
The network now passes nearly 1250 homes and businesses in the area boarded by Manduarah Road to the west, Meadow Springs Drive to the south, Mandjoogoordap Drive in the east and Badgerup Avenue in the north with 1110 premises able to order a service today.
The Chairman of iPeel, Rhys Williams today welcomed the news the NBN has arrived in Meadow Springs and the opportunities it will bring.
“The NBN is an enabler for our community,†Mr Williams said.
“It’s an opportunity for Mandurah to embrace innovation, and propel our businesses into a global market. To be one of the first cities in Western Australia to go live gives us an opportunity for competitive advantage, and now it’s up to us as a community to embrace that opportunity,â€
While making today’s announcement NBN Co also urged local residents to sign up before existing landline phone, ADSL internet and Telstra cable internet services are switched off in the area.
For Meadow Springs residents, living or working in the area (shown in the map below) the 18 month countdown started on November 5.
Other areas across Perth will have different disconnection dates depending on when the NBN becomes available in each area.
In May 2015 NBN’s new infrastructure is scheduled to replace existing telecommunications infrastructure services.
Residents who want to continue to use their landline phone, ADSL internet or Telstra cable internet services will need to make the switch because these services will be replaced in parts of Meadow Springs with NBN fibre optic cable.
NBN already in Mandurah homes

26/Jun/2013
MANDURAH residents are some of the first in WA to access the next generation in high speed telecommunications with the launch last week of Telstra services on the National Broadband Network.
Around 26,000 homes in Mandurah will be active by the end of the year and more than 500 are eligible to connect now.
The Telstra team took time out to host a questions and answer session at Ac-cent Mandurah with questions ranging from the installation of broadband equipment inside and outside the home to the future of the hundreds of kilometres of copper wire now unnecessary.
With web use at home on the rise, the NBN will provide the bandwidth needed to get the entire household on line at the same time, using a growing range of connected devices such as PCs, game consoles, tablets and smartphones.
Telstra services will also connect people with education and health services.
Telstra area general manager Nocola Swarbrick said fast broadband opened up terrific possibilities such as attending a specialist appointment from home using video chat or for students participating in lectures when they could not attend university.
She said Telstra staff had been geared up for the launch for several months with local technicians and staff receiving special training.
NBN (National Broadband Network)
For many people in the Mandurah Area, the NBN is getting very close to completion.
A lot of people will need additional data cabling in their house to connect to the NTD (Network Termination Device).
Talk to Graeme at Peel Datacomms about what you might need to take advantage of the high speed Internet access that NBN will provide you.
